Greenaway’s lively, provocative film follows the great Soviet filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein (Finnish actor Elmer Bäck) in his travels to the Mexican city of Guanajuato in 1931. Following the international success of Battleship Potemkin, Eisenstein goes to Mexico to shoot a new film, “Que viva México!,” having recently been spurned by Hollywood.
