Coraline tells the story of a young girl (voiced by Dakota Fanning) who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home and enters a parallel reality. On the surface, this other world eerily mimics her own life, though it is much more fantastical. It is inhabited by such off-kilter characters as the morbidly funny Miss Forcible and Miss Spank (Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders), as well as an “other mother” (Teri Hatcher) who attempts to keep her.
